High Country Top 5 Playgrounds
Playgrounds are great year-round fun in the Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, West Jefferson, Wilkesboro area. Here is a list of our top 5 (with details on other area playgrounds as well):
Tate Evans Park

Tate-Evans Park has two playground areas - one recently renovated area for smaller children (see picture) and Fort VonCanon for older children.
The park also features a paved greenway trail, wading pools, a volleyball court, picnic tables, and a covered picnic shelter. Restroom facilities are available from April though September.

Boone NC
This gated playground featured two separate play areas--one for small children and one for those over the age of five. The playground also featured a covered picnic area with grills and a paved track for adults to exercise and children to ride bikes.

Blowing Rock Playground

The newly installed Blowing Rock playground opening 9/4/20. The playground features sections for smaller and older children with many different activities.
Nearby the playground is a covered picnic shelter, basketball, pickleball and tennis courts and access to Main Street dining and shopping.

Valle Crucis Park Playground
Non-profit private park, Valle Crucis, NC
The Valle Crucis Park Playground has areas for muliple ages. There is a swing set with two baby/toddler swings, 4 regular swings and a special needs swing. The larger playground has multiple play areas to accommodate large numbers. There is even a "zipline!" The small playground is perfect for toddlers.
The park also features multiple covered picnic shelters with grills, a paved walking path and plenty of wide open, mowed areas to play in. Fine more details HERE
Cub Creek Playground
Wilkesboro NC
Located near downtown Wilkesboro, Cub Creek Playground was recently renovated and features equipment for all ages!
The park also featured a cover picnic shelter, access to the Greenway Trail, ball fields, fishing access and biking trails. Find details HERE
