Roadside Waterfalls NC High Country
Roadside Waterfalls NC High Country
Here are two waterfalls that you can drive up to and view from your vehicle in the Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Newland, Wilkesboro, West Jefferson Area!
SilverVale Waterfall
Blowing Rock NC
SilverVale Falls are a true drive-up waterfall with a 70-80 foot cascade. The waterfall has a small pull-off on the right side of the road.
The falls are located ten miles from the High Country Visitor Center, off 321 headed towards Lenoir, on Waterfalls Road.
*There is always some graffitti located on the rocks beside the waterfall, so don't be disappointed. You can angle your camera to cut out the unwelcome art!

Waterfalls Park
Newland NC
Waterfalls Park is located right off Highway 19E in Newland across from a Dollar General Store and Roses Discount Store- crazy huh!
The falls pictured are viewable from your car. There is a five car parking lot located at the park so you can stop and gaze. If you want to get out of your vehicle, you can walk to a cute bridge with built-in benches for a rest, or head across the bridge to the picnic area.
The picnic area features a few shade trees, four picnic tables and two grills. There are no trash cans, water spigots or bathrooms on site.
In addition to the falls pictured, there are two more sets of similar falls located up a steep (but short!) hiking trail. All falls areas have great little shallow areas to cool off your feet or grab a great picture.
