NC High Country Easter Egg Hunts | 2026 Event Guide
NC High Country Easter Egg Hunts can be a real treat. You can enjoy the first signs of spring. The crocus and daffodils will be popping up and the birds will be chirping and hopping about. Bring your family up and make a memorable weekend. Here is the 2026 Event Guide with a list of Easter events and dining opportunities in Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and West Jefferson North Carolina:

March 31, Watauga Country Recreation Center, Boone
Crafts, Face Painting, Bunny visits, Egg Hunt begins at 6pm - High Country Easter Egg Splash
March 27, 5:00pm, Watauga County Recreation Center, Boone
This unique egg hunt will have over 1000 eggs for kids, ages 0 - 12, to hunt in the pool. All participants will receive a bag stuffed with candy. There will also be prize baskets up for grabs! Activities begin at 4:30 pm with art activities in the pool party rooms. The hunt will begin at 5pm. After the hunt, participants will have access to the pool until 7:30 pm. Registration is $5 per participant. But, don't delay - the price increases on March 21. Space is limited, so register today! Registration is accepted at the Watauga Community Recreation Center. This year's event will feature Ayla the Dreams Fairy, crafts from Horn in the West, facepainting, 3,000 scattered eggs for Ages 0-12 to find, and Casting Bread's giant rubber ducky! - Sparta Annual Easter Egg Hunt

- Banner Elk Photos With the Easter Bunner
April 4, 11-1pm, Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce
Edgar the Easter Bunny will pose for pictures at a special Easter-themed selfie station. Bring your own camera or cell phone to capture Easter memories. Families, pets and children of all ages are invited to get their pictures made, and a chamber volunteer will be available to take the pictures, if desired. Edgar will also give Easter candy to the kiddos.

Join us for an “egg-straordinary party and egg hunt” There will be games, activities, & the hunt for kids 12 & under.
- Helicopter Egg Drop
April 3-5, 10-5pm, Alpha & Omega Farm, Hamptonville
More than 30,000 plastic eggs will fall out of the sky. Hi tech helicopters will be offering helicopter rides between drop times at an additional fee. Our very own Thumper the Easter Bunny will join us for pictures with the children. Explore this 20-acre agritourism complex with the farm consisting of: Helicopter Egg Hunt, (4 drop times for your convenience ), Corn Cob Express, Corn Box, Picnic Pavilion, See Saws, Tug of War, Animal Acres, Pipe World, Bounce Pillow, Corn Hole, Hayride, Local Vendors, Photo Opportunities & much more.
