Guests are invited to bring an acoustic instrument to participate in the jams or listen and observe the fiddle tunes and folk songs in a close-up and casual environment. Each week, various musicians from the local community, as well as visitors, gather throughout the Jones House. After catching up and choosing a key, the music begins until the "last call for tunes" comes around 9:45.

When you come to the weekly art shows at the Edgewood Cottage, you'll see many of the artists creating their art, either on the Porch or in this intimate historic Cottage. Artists in Residence work can include, but isn't limited to, oil painting, watercolor, ceramics, photography, folk art, acrylics, wood working and fiber art. Grandfather Mountain Rhododendron Ramble
Take a daily, short, guided stroll that highlights Grandfather Mountains rhododendron species and blooms. Included with admission. See the blooms and learn about their history, attributes and roles they play in the mountains ecological communities. The easygoing walks take approximately 20 minutes and are fit for guests of all ages – wheelchair and stroller accessible. Meet outside the entrance of the Wilson Center for Nature Discovery. Staff naturalists will also have a display inside Wilson Center.
