Blooming from May-August, bluets are native to North America and grow 3-6 inches tall with many small 4-petal flowers, light to dark blue.

Doughton Park- Blue Ridge Parkway
Sparta NC

One of the best kept secrets of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Doughton Park offers long range views, a great campground, restaurant and large picnic area. The Bluff Mountain Trail is a 7.5 mile trail with many spots to drop on and off.  The trail goes through shaded forest areas with Solomon Seal and Trillium wildflowers and them opens up to grassy fields with full sun flowers such as azalea.  Find more details HERE
