High Country New Spring Festivals 2022



6 NEW OUTDOOR SPRING FESTIVALS COME TO THE NC HIGH COUNTRY!

North Carolina’s High Country is celebrating the return of spring (and the decline of Covid) with five inaugural spring festivals! Enjoy the North Carolina mountains fresh air and take in the spring blooms while enjoying live music, art demonstrations and more. Here is a list of when and where to find them:

The Inaugural Uncatchable Concert Series will be bringing national music acts to the Mash House Stage at Call Family Distillery in Wilkesboro.  Spring performances include Black Stone Cherry on April 9th, Aaron Tippin with special guests Whey Jennings and the CJ Ballard Band on May 14th,  and Muscadine Bloodline on June 11th.

Beech’s Bloomin’ Craft Festival takes place Saturday, April 30th atop Beech Mountain. This event includes food and entertainment, and features regional craftspeople displaying handmade jewelry, candles and soaps, woodcrafts, pottery, photography and many others.

Books come to life on May 14th at the inaugural Pinecones & Pages Literary Festival in Boone. Actors will become characters directly from the page and musicians will accompany authors reading. The festival culminates with a literary/musical show in the Daniel Boone Amphitheater starring Nashville hit makers and world class musicians.

The inaugural High Country Jazz Festival takes place June 9-12 in Boone and Blowing Rock. Anchor events will take place in the newly reopened Appalachian Theatre and under the tent at the Chetola Resort and will include a host of affiliated jazz experiences featuring outdoor concerts, late night jams, jazz lunches and film.

Avery County Summer Fest will be held June 11th through 12th at the Newland Fairgrounds.  The inaugural open-air Summer Fest will feature arts and crafts vendors, traditional craft demonstrations and a food truck rodeo.

Artists with ties to the High Country will return to Boone for the inaugural Boonerang Music & Arts Festival on Saturday, June 18. The free event will feature performances and activities throughout the day at multiple downtown Boone locations, including a street stage on South Depot Street. Musical artists performing include progressive bluegrass stalwarts Acoustic Syndicate, hard-driving pickers Town Mountain, rock-n-roll queen Melissa Reaves and sterling singer-songwriter Alexa Rose, along with other popular artists ranging from roots and reggae to rock and gospel.
