High Country NC WINTER 2021 Openings & Closures

Many attractions in the Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, West Jefferson and Wilkesboro area have limited hours or close for the winter.  Make sure to view our list below when planning your trip to the High Country to make sure the attractions you want to visit are open.

The High Country Regional Visitor Center is open M-Sat, 9-5 and Sun, 9-3.  You can stop by (or call 828-264-1299) the visitor center and pick up State, regional and Blue Ridge Parkway maps, hiking trail and lodging information.  

BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY

• Campgrounds and Visitor Centers: Closed for season
• Hiking Trails: Open
• Restrooms, picnic areas: Closed for season 
• Parkway Craft Center @ Moses Cone Manor: Open until November 30, Wed-Sun: 10-6. No upstairs tours in 2020
• Price Park Boat Rentals: Closed for season

NORTH CAROLINA STATE PARKS

• Trails/restrooms: Open every day except Christmas
• Campgrounds: Stone Mountain State Park open year round
