  • Where can I get a paper map of the closures?
    Stop by the High Country Regional Visitor Center by the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance in Blowing Rock on Highway 321 South for weekly updated and detailed detour and closure maps and Blue Ridge Parkway hiking maps.

  • When will the detours and closures happen? Closures and detours will be in place from March- December 2026

  • Can I still access the parks, trails and campgrounds in 2026? Yes! Access will always be open to the main parks, including Moses Cone Memorial Park, Julian Price Park and Lake, Linn Cove Viaduct, Linville Falls Upper Falls Trails (via forestry service).

  • When will Linville Falls park reopen?  Linville Falls trail access via the Blue Ridge Parkway with reopen early summer.  The campground and visitor center will remain closed in 2026. 

  • Can I explore closed sections by foot or bicycle? No.  Due to the extensive work being performed in the closed sections, it is unsafe to explore sections of the road closed for improvements and repairs.
