NC High Country Halloween 2024 Activities happen not just on Halloween night.  You can find NC High Country Halloween activities for all ages throughout the month of October 2024!  Here is a list of NC High Country Halloween 2024 events happening:

BEECH MOUNTAIN

  • Haunted Harvest & Trail or Treat
    October 25: 5-8:30pm
    Buckeye Recreation Center, Beech Mountain
    Bounce house, games & activities, trail or treat & Haunted Trail ($10). For details call 828-387-3003

BANNER ELK AREA

  • Beary Scary Halloween
    October 26: 11-3:30pm
    Grandfather Mountain
    Visit Grandfather Mountain for a day of nature programs about animals that some consider creepy and crawly! This fun-filled celebration includes an opportunity to trick-or-treat on the mountain and then watch special Halloween enrichments be given to the animals. Included with admission. Details HERE

 

  • Hitchcock Radio Hour
    October 25-26: 7pm
    Ensemble Stage, Historic Banner Elk School
    Two tales of horror and suspense set the mood for your Halloween fears to fester. Performed as staged radio plays, you'll feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and a chill run down your spine as the characters and creatures of the night come to life via the old-time radio show format. You will experience what it would have been like to be the studio audience of a 1930's live radio broadcast, complete with all the music and sound effects being performed live on stage.   • Banner Elk Trunk or Treat
    October 31: 5-7pm
    Historic Banner Elk School Grounds
    One of the more popular family Halloween events in the North Carolina High Country. Children (and adults) come dressed in costumes for a fun trick-or-treat experience from the trunks of vehicles. Banner Elk businesses and individuals decorate their vehicle trunks and hand out candy to all the little ghosts and goblins. Details HERE

 

  • Trick-or-Treat Mini Farm Tours
    October 26
    Apple Hill Farm
    Join Spookley the Square Pumpkin and the Apple Hill Farm animals for a storybook trail Trick-or-Treat Tour! On this educational and hands-on mini-tour, your Tour Ghoul will share fun facts about the animals at each stop and safely distribute goodies for each child. Together you’ll read the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, and end your tour by taking the Bullying Prevention Pledge! For more information, click HERE

 

  • Seven Devils Spooky Trunk or Treat

BOONE - BLOWING ROCK AREA

  • Blowing Rock Halloween Festival
    October 26: 3-8pm
    Downtown Blowing Rock 
    FREE activities at the Museum and park games, trick-or-treating, movies, and a Scavenger Hunt. The highlight is the Monster March, where all the kids get to take over Main Street for a costume parade! For more information, click HERE

    Join us for a free trunk or treat at one of the best sunset locations in the High Country!

 

  • Boone Boo!
    October 31:  5-7:30pm
    Downtown Boone
    Join us in Downtown Boone, as the community and visitors are invited to stop by downtown merchants for a safe, family-friendly trick-or-treating event. The stage will be set with a special Halloween music playlist streaming down King Street and larger-than-life Halloween inflatables lining the sidewalks. The central part of King Street will be closed (from Appalachian Street to Burrell Street) to accommodate trick-or-treaters and to make room for some surprise guests and performances.   • Haunted Horn

    This annual event will feature pumpkin carving, games, fishing for prizes, costume contests and treats. A spooky train ride will be just one of the many activities for children and families to enjoy. Emergency vehicles will be on display, and a cast of masked characters will welcome attendees.
