- Beary Scary Halloween

Visit Grandfather Mountain for a day of nature programs about animals that some consider creepy and crawly! This fun-filled celebration includes an opportunity to trick-or-treat on the mountain and then watch special Halloween enrichments be given to the animals. Included with admission. Details HERE
- Hitchcock Radio Hour

Ensemble Stage, Historic Banner Elk School
Two tales of horror and suspense set the mood for your Halloween fears to fester. Performed as staged radio plays, you'll feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and a chill run down your spine as the characters and creatures of the night come to life via the old-time radio show format. You will experience what it would have been like to be the studio audience of a 1930's live radio broadcast, complete with all the music and sound effects being performed live on stage. Details HERE

Historic Banner Elk School Grounds
One of the more popular family Halloween events in the North Carolina High Country. Children (and adults) come dressed in costumes for a fun trick-or-treat experience from the trunks of vehicles. Banner Elk businesses and individuals decorate their vehicle trunks and hand out candy to all the little ghosts and goblins. Details HERE
- Trick-or-Treat Mini Farm Tours
Apple Hill Farm
Join Spookley the Square Pumpkin and the Apple Hill Farm animals for a storybook trail Trick-or-Treat Tour! On this educational and hands-on mini-tour, your Tour Ghoul will share fun facts about the animals at each stop and safely distribute goodies for each child. Together you’ll read the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, and end your tour by taking the Bullying Prevention Pledge! For more information, click HERE
- Seven Devils Spooky Trunk or Treat
Seven Devils Community Center
Come enjoy some fun and safe Trunk or Treating at the Seven Devils Community Center located at 1356 Seven Devils Rd. We will be giving out candy bags, fun giveaway items, and CANDY! Bring children 16 & under for a good time. Details HERE

Join us in Downtown Boone, as the community and visitors are invited to stop by downtown merchants for a safe, family-friendly trick-or-treating event. The stage will be set with a special Halloween music playlist streaming down King Street and larger-than-life Halloween inflatables lining the sidewalks. The central part of King Street will be closed (from Appalachian Street to Burrell Street) to accommodate trick-or-treaters and to make room for some surprise guests and performances. Jim and Bettie Smith Baseball Field Parking Lot
Parents and children of all age groups are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes. Appalachian State students will be handing out candy from their decorated vehicles. Some will even be providing activities/games designed for all ages. We will have vehicles clearly marked to provide parents of children with food sensitivities a safe place to receive treats. Please join us for an evening of fun fall festivities and we look forward to seeing you there!
Hickory Ridge, Horn in the West, Boone
Blue Ridge Community Theatre will present an adaptation of Orson Welles' Mercury Theater Radio Broadcast of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Bring blankets and chairs, grab some popcorn and prepare to be entranced by one of the most-published stories of all time. Tickets are $10 and available at the venue on each night of the performance.

Fog and spooky sounds fill the air while your favorite haunted classics are shown on the big screens. You won't want to miss this enchanted evening and ghostly tour of the historic Key City Furniture building like never experienced before. And, be sure to wear your best costume for a chance to win up to $250 in cash. There will be multiple categories and prizes but you must be present to win.
