NC High Country Halloween 2022 Activities happen not just on Halloween night.  You can find NC High Country Halloween activities for all ages throughout the month of October 2022!  Here is a list of NC High Country Halloween 2021 events happening:


  • Haunted Harvest & Trail or Treat
    10/28: 5-9pm
    Buckeye Recreation Center, Beech Mountain

  • Beary Scary Halloween
    10/29: 11-3:30
    Grandfather Mountain
    Visit Grandfather Mountain for an afternoon of nature programs about animals that some consider creepy and crawly! This fun-filled celebration includes an opportunity to trick-or-treat through the animal habitats area and then watch special Halloween enrichments be given to the animals. Plus, children in costume are admitted at half-price. Included with admission. Details HERE


  • Banner Elk Trunk or Treat
    Historic Banner Elk School Grounds
    One of the most popular family Halloween events in the North Carolina High Country. Children (and adults) come dressed in costumes for a fun trick-or-treat experience from the trunks of vehicles.


  • Trick-or-Treat Mini Farm Tours
    Apple Hill Farm
    Apple Hill Farm will be leading trick-or-treat mini-tours of the farm in the evenings, where guests can come dressed in their Halloween best and collect candy and gifts from the alpacas, llamas, goats, and other animals that call Apple Hill Farm home. On this educational and hands-on mini-tour, your Tour Ghoul will share fun facts about the animals at each stop and safely distribute goodies for each child.. For more information, click HERE

  • Seven Devils Spooky Trunk or Treat
    10/28: 4-6pm
    Seven Devils Community Center
    Come enjoy some fun and safe Trunk or Treating at the Seven Devils Community Center located at 1356 Seven Devils Rd. We will be giving out candy bags, fun giveaway items, and CANDY! Bring children 16 & under for a good time.  Details HERE



  • Mystery Hill Halloween
    9/23- 10/31, 10am-5:30pm
    Dr. Rozwell's Alien Expo & Celebration Carnival features carnival style, alien-themed games where guests can win tickets to redeem for prizes. The carnival will run 10AM-5:30PM on Fri. - Sun. on event days. Admission: Included free with Ultimate & Ultimate PLUS Adventure Package Purchases
    The Space Cube Experience (like an escape room, just a little smaller!) gives guests 15 minutes to solve the mystery of the Space Cube before government officials arrive and Dr. Rozwell's discovery goes down as just another conspiracy theory. Admission: $12.95, Reservations & waiver required
    9/23- 10/31, 7-11pm
    Attack on the Hill visitors will take a guided tour and defend Mystery Hill as it is being attacked by aliens during this after-hours horror event. Ultimate & Ultimate Adventure Package ticket-holders can add this on for 1/2 price. Regular price: $19.95,  Reservations & waiver required
    Intergalactic Alien Target Practice Sessions include safety briefing, training with practice throws, and scored rounds of 5 throws each to determine the Tomahawk Hill champion.   • Blowing Rock Halloween Festival
    10/29, 3-7pm
    Downtown Blowing Rock 
    FREE activities at the Museum and park games, trick-or-treating, movies, and a Scavenger Hunt. The highlight is the Monster March, where all the kids get to take over Main Street for a costume parade! For more information, click HERE

  • Trunk or Treat
    10/30, 5-7pm
    Watauga County Recreation Center, Boone
    Join us for a free walk-thru event for costumed kiddos in the rec center parking lot.

  • Boone Boo!
    10/31, 5-7:30pm
    Downtown Boone
    Located in downtown Boone, enjoy  games and crafts at the Watauga County Library, a spooky tour of the Jones House and trick or treating with downtown merchants. For more information, click HERE

  • Boone Mall Trick or Treating
    Boone Mall
    Enjoy trick or treat at the stores in the mall.  

  • Trunk or Treat for Tots
    Jim and Bettie Smith Baseball Field Parking Lot
    Enjoy fun activities, games, inflatables, and trick-or-treating from student and faculty vehicles. Allergy sensitive candy will be available at select vehicles. Admission is one canned good or non-perishable item. All donations go to the local food bank. No pets allowed.

  • Dracula 
    10/29-31: 7-8:30pm
    Hickory Ridge, Horn in the West, Boone
    Blue Ridge Community Theatre will present an adaptation of Orson Welles'  Mercury Theater Radio Broadcast of Bram Stoker's Dracula.  Bring blankets and chairs, grab some popcorn and prepare to be entranced by one of the most-published stories of all time. Tickets are $10 and available at the venue on each night of the performance.


  • Trick or Treat Halloween Spooktacular
    Tanger Outlet Mall
    Stores will host a Monster Challenge Scavenger hunt where families find fun clues and complete a scavenger hunt card for a chance to win a $100.00 Tanger Shopping Spree!  A variety of fun activities are planned for the family such as a costume contest, a Touch-A-Truck meet and greet with local fire and police, and even a monster mash dance off in the courtyard.   • C&J Farm Haunted Trail 
    C&J Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze

  • Wilkesboro Halloween Parade and Zombie Fest

    Free Kids IDs and themed vendors open at 2:00

  • Hillside Horror

  • Murder in the House of Horrors
    Wilkes Playmakers, North Wilkesboro
    Welcome to the museum’s lecture on ’Monsters, Murderers and Madmen.’ You have no doubt enjoyed the Chamber of Horrors display in the lobby and are listening attentively to Professor Dirk Carlton, a renowned Egyptologist, tell of his discovery of the Pharaoh Menkaura’s tomb. Suddenly, while watching a slide of the ruler’s sarcophagus, the projector goes off, plunging the auditorium into darkness. When the lights come on, someone is dead!  You, the audience is now drawn into this mystery, both as witnesses and suspects. When Lt. Dan Morrow arrives, he narrows the suspects to seven. Was it the jealous wife? Or the exotic Egyptian who cursed the expedition? The lieutenant enlists the audience’s aid in solving the crime, allowing them to question and accuse the suspects. Your audience will be caught up in this ’virtual’ thriller, uncovering the clues that reveal the killer in the electrifying climax. This unique mystery contains as many laughs as it does shivers.   • Rendezvous Mountain Ghost Walk
    Rendezvous Mountain Educational State Forest
    Learn about Rendezvous Mountain's Colorful History of untimely deaths and the possibility of paranormal activity on the mountain. Learn about what really takes place on Rendezvous after the sun goes down. A walk in the woods after dark can be a pleasant learning experience rather than scary. This event is free and open to the public.

    This free event will begin at 7:00 pm in the upper parking lot each night.
    Space is limited to 20 people per night and pre-registration is required, please call 336-667-5072 to reserve your spot! Masks are encouraged.
