Matteo is currently developing an animated series, Kickass Drag Queen, with Bob the Drag Queen, Gary Sanchez and Unicorn Island Productions, and he co-hosts the podcast Inside the Closet with Emma Willmann. Not limited to just stand up, Matteo also performs a live cabaret, Streisand at the Bon Soir, to great critical acclaim. Fluent in five languages and with a singing range of six octaves, Matteo lived in Italy as an oil painter and opera singer before starting his comedy career.

Did you miss the Polar Plunge at Chetola this year? Were you too chicken to give it a go? No worries! We're offering a Polar Dunk this year during Chill at the Hill on Saturday from 2pm-4pm. Polar Dunkers can choose from a list of charities to donate to and take the plunge for a good cause. You'll be dropped into a dunking booth and we will provide anyone who takes the dip a thermal blanket, a free cocoa, cider, or coffee. A portion of all Chill at the Hill ticket sales will get donated to a charity for participating in the dunk tank. Mystery Hill will donate money to St. Jude's Children Hospital, Pet Partners in Lenoir, or the Special Olympics North Carolina.

Comprised of some of the finest classically trained singers in the United States, the mission of the American Spiritual Ensemble is to keep the American Negro spiritual alive. Since its inception by Dr. Everett McCorvey in 1995, the vocalists have thrilled audiences around the world with their dynamic repertoire ranging from spirituals to classical to jazz and Broadway numbers highlighting the Black experience.

Enjoy the rare opportunity to visit Grandfather Mountain outside of regular operating hours and see a sunset from the top of the mountain. Your event ticket includes an entire day’s access to Grandfather Mountain, with regular park hours being 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trails close at 4 p.m. At 5 p.m., all sunset eventgoers should head to the top of the mountain. There are no event ticket discounts for folks who do not want to access the park during regular park hours.
Sunset is at 6:12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023. Due to safety regulations, eventgoers are only permitted to view the sunset from the Swinging Bridge area. The Top Shop gift shop and restrooms will be accessible during the event. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring flashlights/headlamps and wear heavy winter jackets, hats, gloves and rubber-soled shoes.
All Sunset at the Swinging Bridge participants will need to exit the park’s gates by 7 p.m. A picture-perfect sunset, unfortunately, cannot be guaranteed.
