The NC High Country is the perfect play for visitors to celebrate the birth of the United States!  The cool mountain temperatures in the Boone, Blowing Rock NC area, free family events and outdoor activities make the NC High Country a popular summer vacation location. Here is a list of 4th of July celebrations, festivals and events in the High Country of North Carolina:

  • TOWN of BOONE NC 4th of JULY CELEBRATION
    July 4, 2024
    The annual Town of Boone fireworks display will take place on the evening of Tuesday, July 4 at Clawson-Burnley Park at the Boone Greenway. The community is invited to come view the fireworks, which will begin around dusk.

    Boone 4th of July Parade
    The 4th of July parade takes place on Tuesday, July 4 at 11:00 am. Find your favorite spot along King Street in Downtown Boone and take in the sights as floats, marchers, and performers show off their patriotic reds, whites, and blues. Afterwards, stop by the Jones House lawn for free watermelon, cake, and lemonade.

 

  • TOWN of BEECH MOUNTAIN 4th of JULY CELEBRATIONS
    July 6, 2024
    Start your celebration at the Buckeye Recreation Center for the Family Tailgate Party from 11AM-1PM. There will be face painting, games, hot dogs and bounce houses. Featuring Beech Mountain’s Fire & Police Department. (The Sparkler 5K race begins at 10AM). For more information, please call 828-387-3003.

    53rd Annual Hog Roast
    Pick up at Fred’s Gazebo.. Enjoy the Best Pork or Turkey BBQ in the High Country, slow-cooked over hickory charcoal with all the fixins.

    Fireworks in the Village
    Adventure seekers and families can take in the beautiful fireworks show from the resort villagePlay Yard slope, or Lodge at dusk. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and the whole family can come early for live music, inflatables, and games for all ages. Bring your friends and let’s make some magical memories!

 

  • BANNER ELK NC ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY PARADE

  • ASHE COUNTY ANNUAL 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS

    The fireworks start at 9:30 at Mount Jefferson and can be viewed from both the 221 side as well as Main Street West Jefferson. Officials will assist with traffic and parking. Parking: Ashe County High School, Old Lowes Foods, Wal-mart, Lowes Hardware, State Farm Ins., Ashe Civic Center, Skybest Security, Goodwill, Auto Zone, the Banks and Main Street West Jefferson.

 

  • TODD LIBERTY PARADE & CONCERT

    The July 4th Todd Liberty Parade is back! The theme is Nature's Wonderland and all are invited to don a costume and walk in the parade. All costumes are provided. If you are walking in the parade, please be at the big field at the corner of 1-94 and Todd Railroad Grade Road by 10:00 am. The parade goes through downtown Todd ending at Cook Park with a concert by the King Bees. Food available for purchase. Parking is $5/car.

 

  • BLUEGRASS & BRASS- A FOURTH OF JULY DAZZLE

    Joe Shannon's Mountain Home Music hosts The Mountain Home Music Bluegrass Boys & King Street Brass for an indoor patriotic concert at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Boone.

  • 18TH CENTURY INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

  • NORTH WILKESBORO MARKETPLACE MELTDOWN & FIREWORKS

    Patriotic tunes, parade, food, fun and fireworks in Wilkes at the Yadkin Valley Marketplace. Festivities starts @ 6:00 with live music, followed by the emergency vehicle parade and fireworks display at dusk.

 

  • BLOWING ROCK NC 4th of JULY CELEBRATION

    The best small-town holiday parade around! Come early for the parade at 10am and enjoy the festive atmosphere in town for the afternoon with games and music in Memorial Park! *note* Main Street will not have parking available on the morning of the parade, to allow more space and visibility for spectators!   • SPARTA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

    This small mountain town loves a parade and just about everyone from the town and surrounding communities line up along Main Street to watch the color guard, floats, fire trucks, old cars and marchers.  Starts at 2pm.

 

  • CROSSNORE FOURTH CELEBRATION
    TBA
    Hotdogs will be served at the fire deparment starting at 4pm.  Parade will start at 5pm and go from the elementary school to the meeting house.  At 5:45, veterans will be honored at the meeting house, followed by a kids frog jumping competition and live music until dark. Fireworks at dark-thirty!

 

  • NEWLAND INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVAL

    Parade begins at 10am.  Live music, craft and food vendors, kids and family activities, old-fashioned contests and more at Riverwalk Park and Bandstand. Fireworks at dark!  More info HERE

 

  • FIREWORKS AT SUGAR MOUNTAIN
    July 4, 2024
    Where to watch the fireworks? The most unique and up-close vista is from Sugar’s 5,300’ peak via the Summit Express chairlift (fee) running 7-10 PM. Or watch from the lodge (free admission & parking) and enjoy live music on the deck 6-9 PM. They begin just after 9 PM. Also watch from the parking areas at the resort.
