NC High Country 4th of July Celebrations 2022

The NC High Country is the perfect play for visitors to celebrate the birth of the United States!  The cool mountain temperatures in the Boone, Blowing Rock NC area, free family events and outdoor activities make the NC High Country a popular summer vacation location. Here is a list of 4th of July celebrations, festivals and events in the High Country of North Carolina:

  • TOWN of BOONE NC 4th of JULY CELEBRATION
    July 3-4, 2022
    On July 3, at the Boone Greenway near Clawson-Burnley Park, there will be afternoon festivities that will include music, games, inflatable bounce houses, food trucks, and more. There will also be a concert at ASU’s State Farm Lot as part of An Appalachian Summer Festival, featuring Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives (purchase tickets at appsummer.org). The Town’s annual firework display will follow at dusk!

    Boone 4th of July Parade
    The 4th of July parade takes place on Monday, July 4 at 11:00 am. Find your favorite spot along King Street in Downtown Boone and take in the sights as floats, marchers, and performers show off their patriotic reds, whites, and blues.

  • 50th ANNUAL BEECH MOUNTAIN NC ROASTING of the HOG 
    July 2, 2022: 5-8pm
    Enjoy pork, smoked turkey and all the fixin's. Fireworks at dark! 

 

  • BEECH MOUNTAIN 4th of JULY FAMILY CELEBRATION
    July 2, 2022: 10-3pm
    Run in the Sparkler 5K at 10am and stay for the FREE bounce houses, yard games, face painting, food and fun for the whole family in the Beech Mountain Kite Field from 11am-3pm.

  • BANNER ELK NC ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
    July 4, 2022: 11-12pm
    The best small town parade you'll ever attend! Starting at 11 a.m., floats, bikes, cars, people parade down Main Street. A Duck Race and Party in the Park will follow. http://www.bannerelk.org

 

  • ASHE COUNTY ANNUAL 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS
    July 4, 2022: 9:30pm
    The show can be viewed from both the 221 side as well as Main Street West Jefferson. We ask that everyone please view the show from the safety of their vehicles as this property allows the viewing area to be widespread. Locals will be on hand to assist with traffic.

 

  • BLUEGRASS & BRASS- A FOURTH OF JULY DAZZLE
    July 4, 2022: 7pm
    Joe Shannon's Mountain Home Music hosts The Mountain Home Music Bluegrass Boys & King Street Brass for an indoor patriotic concert at the Blowing Rock School Auditorium.

  • 18TH CENTURY INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
    July 2-3, 2022: 10-2pm
    Come celebrate Independence Day 18th Century style. Also, visit a Continental Army Encampment on the Hickory Ridge History Museum grounds in Boone.

  • N WILKESBORO MARKETPLACE MELTDOWN & FIREWORKS
    July 4, 2022: 6-10pm
    Patriotic tunes, parade, food, fun and fireworks in Wilkes at the Yadkin Valley Marketplace. Festivities starts @ 6:00 with the Silvio Martinat Band, followed by the emergency vehicle parade and fireworks display at dusk.

 

  • BLOWING ROCK NC 4th of JULY CELEBRATION
    July 2, 2022: 10-4pm
    The best small-town holiday parade around! Come early for the parade and enjoy the festive atmosphere in town for the afternoon with games and music in Memorial Park!
    *note* Main Street will not have parking available on the morning of the parade, to allow more space and visibility for spectators! Parking will re-open just after the parade’s end.

  • SPARTA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
    July 2, 2022: 2pm
    This small mountain town loves a parade and just about everyone from the town and surrounding communities line up along Main Street to watch the color guard, floats, fire trucks, old cars and marchers. 

 

  • CROSSNORE FOURTH CELEBRATION
    TBA
    Hotdogs will be served at the fire deparment starting at 4pm.  Parade will start at 5pm and go from the elementary school to the meeting house.  At 5:45, veterans will be honored at the meeting house, followed by a kids frog jumping competition and live music until dark. Fireworks at dark-thirty!

 

  • NEWLAND INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVAL
    TBA
    Parade begins at 11.  Live music, craft and food vendors, old-fashioned contests and more at Riverwalk Park and Bandstand. Fireworks at dark!

 

  • FIREWORKS AT SUGAR MOUNTAIN
    July 4, 2022: 6-10pm
    A spectacular fireworks show atop Sugar Mountain’s 5,300-foot peak begins around 9:15 p.m. The Summit Express chairlift runs from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. for mountaintop fireworks viewing. No mountain-bike riding after 7 p.m. Typical Mountain Boys perform at the base lodge from 6 until 9 p.m., and food and beverages are available.
