NC High Country 4th of July Celebrations 2024

The NC High Country is the perfect play for visitors to celebrate the birth of the United States!  The cool mountain temperatures in the Boone, Blowing Rock NC area, free family events and outdoor activities make the NC High Country a popular summer vacation location. Here is a list of 4th of July celebrations, festivals and events in the High Country of North Carolina:

• TOWN of BOONE NC 4th of JULY CELEBRATION
  July 4, 2024
  The annual Town of Boone fireworks display will take place on the evening of July 4 at Clawson-Burnley Park at the Boone Greenway. The community is invited to come view the fireworks, which will begin around dusk.
  

  Boone 4th of July Parade
  The 4th of July parade takes place on Tuesday, July 4 at 11:00 am. Find your favorite spot along King Street in Downtown Boone and take in the sights as floats, marchers, and performers show off their patriotic reds, whites, and blues. Afterwards, stop by the Jones House lawn for free watermelon, cake, and lemonade.

• TOWN of BEECH MOUNTAIN 4th of JULY CELEBRATIONS
  July 6, 2024
  Start your celebration at the Buckeye Recreation Center for the Family Tailgate Party from 11AM-1PM. There will be face painting, games, hot dogs and bounce houses. Featuring Beech Mountain’s Fire & Police Department. (The Sparkler 5K race begins at 10AM). For more information, please call 828-387-3003.
  
  53rd Annual Hog Roast
  Pick up at Fred’s Gazebo.. Enjoy the Best Pork or Turkey BBQ in the High Country, slow-cooked over hickory charcoal with all the fixins.
  
  Fireworks in the Village
  Adventure seekers and families can take in the beautiful fireworks show from the resort village, Play Yard slope, or Lodge at dusk. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and the whole family can come early for live music, inflatables, and games for all ages. Bring your friends and let’s make some magical memories!
  

• STAR- SPANGLED BANNER ELK
  July 4, 2024
  The best small town parade you'll ever attend! Starting at 11 a.m., floats, bikes, cars, people parade down Main Street.
  
  Party in the Park 
  The Party in the Park starts at noon and includes food vendors, old-fashioned games and inflatables. Try your luck in the famed duck race, with hundreds of rubber ducks floating toward the finish line. Proceeds from the Duck Race go to the local Kiwanis Club. 

• ASHE COUNTY ANNUAL 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS
  July 4, 2024, 9:30ish
  The fireworks can be viewed from both the 221 side & Downtown West Jefferson. We ask that everyone please view the show from the safety of their vehicles as this property allows the viewing area to be widespread. Officials will assist with traffic and parking. Parking: Ashe County High School, Old Lowes Foods, Wal-mart, Lowes Hardware, State Farm Ins., Ashe Civic Center, Skybest Security, Skyline National Bank, Goodwill, Auto Zone (after 8pm), Lifestore Bank & Main Street West Jefferson.

• TODD LIBERTY PARADE & CONCERT
  July 4, 2024, 11am
  The parade takes place in downtown Todd on July 4, 2024, at 11:00 am. It starts at the corner of NC Hwy 194 and Todd Railroad Grade Road and ends at Cook Memorial Park where there will be music by the King Bees and food for sale off the grill. We hope you’ll come and enjoy the parade, live music, have some lunch and celebrate America with us! We suggest getting to Todd early to find parking and your spot along the parade route. Parking is $5 per car.

• BLUEGRASS & BRASS- A FOURTH OF JULY DAZZLE
  July 4, 2024, 7pm
  Joe Shannon's Mountain Home Music hosts The Mountain Home Music Bluegrass Boys & King Street Brass for an indoor patriotic concert at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Boone. The Mountain Home Bluegrass Boys are a mainstay at JSMHM and features two-time national bluegrass banjo champion Steve Lewis, Scott Freeman on mandolin, Josh Scott on bass, and twice-national studio musician of the year, David Johnson – who will serve as host for the evening. • 18TH CENTURY INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
  June 29 & 30, 10am, Horn in the West, Boone
  Experience the American Revolutionary War era with a Continental Army Recruitment, meet Colonel Francis Nash, check out artillery demonstrations, and enjoy a Guilford Courthouse Drums and Fife concert. A highlight will be the Declaration of Independence reading, followed by 13 toasts with musket and cannon fire, and the symbolic flag change from a British flag to a Betsy Ross flag.

  This event is a unique opportunity to step back in time and celebrate our nation's heritage. Bring your family and friends for an awesome weekend of historical reenactments and patriotic celebrations!

• NORTH WILKESBORO MARKETPLACE MELTDOWN & FIREWORKS
  July 4, 2024, 5-8pm
  Live music, food, parade and fireworks in downtown North Wilkesboro at the Yadkin Valley Marketplace. Live music starts @7P. Emergency vehicle parade starts at 8P. Fireworks display at dusk. 
  

• BLOWING ROCK NC 4th of JULY CELEBRATION
  July 6, 2024
  The best small-town holiday parade around! Come early for the parade at 10am and enjoy the festive atmosphere in town for the afternoon with games and music in Memorial Park! *note* Main Street will not have parking available on the morning of the parade, to allow more space and visibility for spectators! • SPARTA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
  July 4 + 6, 2024
  Fireworks on July 4th at the Sparta High School at dark.  Small mountain town parade following on Saturday at 2pm. Watch the color guard, floats, fire trucks, old cars and marchers. Biscuit Eaters,Blue Nomads and Appalachian Roadshow free concert following the parade on Main Street stage. 

• CROSSNORE FOURTH CELEBRATION
  July 4, 2024, 10am-Dark
  Enjoy shopping with craft vendors from 10-2 in downtown. The parade will begin at 4pm. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served after the parade. A special service recognizing military veterans will be held at 4:30. A frog jump will start at 5pm and the festivities will conclude with a fireworks display around 9pm.
  

• NEWLAND INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVAL
  July 6, 2024, 11-6pm
  Parade begins at 11pm.  Live music, craft and food vendors, kids bounce houses and family activities, old-fashioned contests and more at Riverwalk Park and Bandstand follow the parade. Fireworks at dark!  More info HERE

• FIREWORKS AT SUGAR MOUNTAIN
  July 4, 2024
  Where to watch the fireworks? The most unique and up-close vista is from Sugar’s 5,300’ peak via the Summit Express chairlift (fee) running 7-10 PM. Or watch from the lodge (free admission & parking) and enjoy live music on the deck 6-9 PM. They begin just after 9 PM. Also watch from the parking areas at the resort. • ELK PARK 4TH OF JULY FESTIVAL
  July 5, 2024, 6pm-Midnight
  The festival will open with a parade @ 6pm.  There will be a float judging contest held with first, second and third place monetary awards given to the winners. There also will be a dessert contest with monetary awards!

  Inflatables for children will be available from 6:30-9pm. Barbeque sandwiches, hot dogs, potato chips and drinks will be served at 7 p.m. Food vendors will be selling funnel cakes, snow cones and more items.

  Musical entertainment will be provided that evening by Ransomed by Grace from 6:30-7, the Avery County Cloggers from 7-7:30, and the Toe River Drifters from 8:30-9.

  A fireworks show given by JECO Pyrotechnics will start at 9:30, with a movie following.
