The High Country NC Mountains are known for spectacular fall leaf color, so it only makes sense that the outdoor fall festivals are just as popular!  Here is a list of festivals happening 2019 near Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk:

  • Mountain Heritage Festival- Sept 21 2019 
    Sparta NC 
    The Mountain Heritage Festival is located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the quaint small town of Sparta NC. Sparta is about an hour north of Boone, NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway and is also easily accessible from Mountain Airy and Winston Salem.  The festival features live music, dancing, handmade arts & crafts booths, craft demonstrations, festival food and --the small town favorites: The Possum Queen Contest

  • Brushy Mountain Apple Festival- Oct 5 2019
    North Wilkesboro NC
    The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival in downtown North Wilkesboro NC is one of the largest one-day arts & crafts festivals in the southeast!  The festival features over 400 arts & crafts booths, over 100 food vendors, 4 different music stages featuring Bluegrass, Blues, Country and Folk Music, dancers and more!  --And of course you will find lots of apples, apple cider, apple pies, dried apples, apple butter and anything else you can think to make from delicious fall apples!  For a detailed entertainment schedule CLICK HERE

  • Todd New River Festival- Oct 12 2019
    Todd NC
    The Todd New River Festival in historic Todd NC will take place once again on the banks of the New River at Cook Memorial Park in Todd North Carolina.  The New River is thought to be the second oldest river in the word, second only to the Nile River. The festival features live music, storytelling, arts and crafts booths, a checkers playoff, special children's activities including face painting, and much more! 

  • Valle Country Fair- Oct 19 2019
    Valle Crucis NC
    The Valle Country Fair in Valle Crucis North Carolina is a true mountain fair!  The fair features homemade Brunswick Stew, BBQ and Apple Butter to warm you up on a crisp Autumn Day.  Children's activities include storytelling, pumpkin carving and pumpkin bowling.  Fair goers can peruse over 150 juried arts & crafts vendors and listen to live bluegrass and country bands and watch cloggers and square dancers.   • Woolly Worm Festival- Oct 19-20 2019
    Banner Elk NC
    The 40th Annual Woolly Worm Festival takes place in downtown Banner Elk NC.  The event features live music, arts & crafts and food vendors, a children's area featuring inflatables, and of course the famed Woolly Worm waces!  The winning worm receives a $1,000 prize and winter weather predicting rights!
