Families Learning Together, Turtle Island Preserve, Boone NC Turtle Island Preserve will hold their annual Spring event on April 22, Earth Day. Come visit us and be inspired as we experience and celebrate the beauty of our outdoor world and all it has to offer. Demonstrators will be on hand to demonstrate and offer participation in traditional earth skills such as using a shaving horse, fire by friction, foraging, basketry, salt making, blacksmithing and much more. Vendors with beautiful natural products will be on hand for your exploration, such as stained glass, botanicals, jewelry, Charleston sweetgrass baskets and on and on. Mountain music will be playing throughout the day with square dance lessons. Yoga and qigong classes will be taught as well...and much more. Lunch will be available.
