58th Annual Highland Games: July 11-14

Nowhere in the America’s is there a place more reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands than the High Country of North Carolina.  Perhaps this is why so many of Scottish descent chose to settle here.  Whether you are of Scottish ancestry or not, come to the Highland Games to sample Scottish music, dancing, foods, costumes, field games and much more. FIELD GAMES

  • Competitions are held for the following Scottish Sports:
  • Sheep Herding
  • Clachneart (16lb Stone)
  • 22lb Hammer Throw
  • 28 & 56lb Weight Throw
  • 56lb Weight Toss for Height
  • Turning the Caber
  • Tossing the Sheaf (16lb)
  • Highland Wrestling
  • Highland Dance
  • Piping & Drumming

INFO TO KNOW:

  • Pets are not permitted
  • You must park off-site and take a shuttle bus to the festival for a fee of $5-$10.  Click here for details on shuttle stop
  • Tickets start at $15 for adults and can be purchased at the main gate
